With 2011 just round the corner, CIOs of most Indian companies are ready with their IT priorities for the New Year. SearchCIO India's IT priorities for Indian businesses 2011 Edition captures the IT priorities set by the top Indian CIOs.

In the first of the series, we bring you the video interview of Arun Gupta, Customer Care Associate and Group CTO, Shoppers Stop. In this post, Gupta shares the initiatives Shoppers Stop plans to undertake in the year 2011 as per the company’s IT priorities.

Gupta informs that Shoppers Stop plans to invest a little less than 2 per cent of its revenue on IT infrastructure as under its IT priorities for 2011. The company has set a revenue target of Rs 2,500 crore for the next year. 

Some of the initiatives include establishment of a global data synchronization network, upgrading its core retail ERP, technology refresh, and leveraging social media tools for customer engagement and satisfaction.
